What We Do
What We Do
At Children’s Charity Cambodia, we take a structured, transparent, and community-led approach to improving safety and wellbeing in rural and remote schools. Our work goes far beyond playgrounds — it starts with understanding the full picture of a school’s needs and ends with long-term, measurable impact.

Our Support & Engagement Programmes
International School Programme

We connect schools in other countries with rural Cambodian schools. Students learn about:
-
The challenges Cambodian children face
-
Differences in school facilities and daily life
-
The importance of global empathy and community
Partner schools can fundraise, follow the project they support, and see the real-world impact of their efforts. We also encourage cross-school messaging, allowing children to ask questions and learn directly from one another — building awareness of the wider world.

Buy a Coffee, Build a Playground

Local and international coffee shops can support our work through a simple monthly donation.
In return, they receive:
-
A plaque showing their support for Cambodian children
-
A meaningful CSR story their customers can engage with
-
Increased customer loyalty through visible community impact
This programme turns everyday purchases into long-term change and helps promote our campaigns to individual donors.

Partnerships, Grants & Donors

Alongside community fundraising, we actively seek:
-
Corporate partnerships
-
Foundation grants
-
CSR collaborations
-
Individual major donors
These partnerships allow us to scale our impact, reach more schools, and address urgent needs more quickly.

Our Goal
To ensure that childhood fun never comes with the risk of serious injury, and that rural schools — no matter how remote — are seen, assessed, and supported.

One school.
One playground.
One safer childhood at a time.
Playground Programme
1
Site Visit & Full School Assessment
Every project begins on the ground.
We visit schools identified as being in urgent need and carry out a comprehensive assessment, not just of the playground, but of the wider school environment. This includes:
-
Playground equipment safety and condition
-
Access to safe drinking water
-
Sanitation and toilet facilities
-
Availability of educational and sports equipment
-
General school safety, furniture, and learning spaces
Rural and remote schools are often overlooked, meaning their needs go unseen and unsupported. The data we collect is carefully documented and shared with our partner NGOs, foundations, and support networks, helping them respond more effectively in areas we may not directly provide — such as WASH, education resources, or health initiatives.
Where possible, we also visit neighbouring schools in the same area to assess conditions and determine urgency. This ensures funding and support reach the schools that need it most, faster.
Playground Programme
2
Campaign Appeal – One Playground at a Time
Once assessments are complete, we launch a public fundraising campaign focused on a specific school and a specific need.
We intentionally work one playground at a time.
We do not fundraise endlessly without delivery.
This approach ensures:
-
Clear goals
-
Tangible outcomes
-
Donor trust
-
Immediate impact
Supporters know exactly what they are funding, where it will be installed, and how it will change children’s lives.
Playground Programme
3
Project Delivery & Donor Updates
When a campaign is funded, we move straight into action.
Donors are kept informed throughout the entire process, including:
-
Equipment ordering
-
Removal of dangerous, rusted structures
-
Site preparation
-
Installation of new, safe, durable equipment
Transparency is central to everything we do. Supporters don’t just donate — they follow the journey from danger to safety.
Playground Programme
4
Impact Statement & Documentation
Once a project is complete, we gather:
-
An impact statement from the school
-
Photos and documentation of the completed work
-
Feedback from teachers and parents
This ensures accountability, celebrates success, and allows donors to clearly see the difference they’ve made. Each completed project becomes proof of what’s possible — and a foundation for the next one.
